When you create an account, we collect your email address and, if you use social login, your name and profile information provided by Google or Apple. We also collect your quiz progress, test scores, streak data, and app usage analytics to improve your experience.
If you use Queue Jumper, we store the email address on your L-Plate account, your selected test centre, notification preferences, payment status, and alert history so we can monitor cancellation availability and notify you when relevant slots appear.
Queue Jumper does not ask for or store your MyRoadSafety password, Public Services Card details, or payment card details. You book any alerted slot yourself through the official RSA/MyRoadSafety portal.
You can change your selected centre and notification preferences from Queue Jumper. You can request full account deletion at any time by contacting privacy@l-plate.ie.
We use your data to: provide and personalize the L-Plate service; track your learning progress; send you streak reminders and study notifications (if enabled); process payments via Stripe; and improve the app through anonymized analytics.
Your data is stored securely on Supabase (hosted in the EU). Payment information is processed by Stripe and is never stored on our servers. We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Essential cookies and local storage maintain your session, security, and saved preferences. We use Sentry error diagnostics to keep the web service reliable. In the mobile app, crash and error diagnostics are off by default and only switch on when a signed-in learner confirms they are 16 or older and opts in from Settings. Reports can include technical error, device, operating-system, app-version, and HTTP-method details. L-Plate removes account identity, request content, full URLs, and interaction history from mobile reports; switching the control off clears diagnostic context and withdraws the choice. Optional analytics and marketing tools are only enabled after consent through our cookie banner.
If you give consent, we may load Google Analytics and product or campaign measurement tools such as PostHog, Meta, TikTok, Bing, and Reddit. We may also enable Sentry Session Replay to investigate errors and usability problems. Replay creates a privacy-masked reconstruction of browser interactions rather than raw video; page text, form inputs, images, and other media are masked or blocked before capture.
You can withdraw or change optional tracking consent at any time using the Cookie settings button shown throughout the site. Withdrawing consent stops future Session Replay recording and disables optional trackers.
Under EU/EEA law, you have the right to: access your personal data; request correction or deletion of your data; object to or restrict processing; and data portability. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@l-plate.ie.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it.
L Plate is intended for users aged 16 and over (the minimum age for a provisional driving licence in Ireland). We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.
