Congratulations on passing the theory test! The next step is applying for your learner permit. Here is the complete process.
When to Apply
Apply as soon as possible. Your theory test certificate is valid for 2 years, but there is no reason to delay. The sooner you have your learner permit, the sooner you can start your 12 EDT lessons and book your driving test.
How to Apply
- Visit your local NDLS centre (National Driver Licence Service)
- Bring required documents:
- Theory test certificate
- Proof of identity (passport or birth certificate)
- Proof of address (utility bill, bank statement)
- PPSN (Personal Public Service Number)
- Eyesight report from an optician (if your first learner permit)
- Medical report (if applicable)
- Passport-style photos (or they can be taken at the NDLS)
Cost
A learner permit costs EUR 35.
How Long Does It Take?
If you apply in person at an NDLS centre with all documents, you will typically receive your learner permit within 5-10 working days.
